get ripped absIt seems that so many people are still practicing old exercises and cranking out hundreds of situps on a daily basis in the hope of reducing stomach fat and developing their 6 pack abs.

I can remember when I was a child watching my mother do endless sets of crunches on a daily basis in order to get ripped abs. She read a woman’s health magazine that doing endless sets of crucnches would get her ripped abs and believe it or not, was doing 700 or more crunches on a daily basis every day for several weeks.

As with many other people who attempt to get ripped abs, she ended up getting discouraged as a result of the endless sets of crunches simply because they were not producing the results that she desired.

The fact of the matter is, doing 1000 crunches per day won’t get ripped abs that you desire and typically, it will just leave you feeling as if nothing you’re doing is going to work.

Building eye-popping abdominals is not the hardest thing to achieve in the world but it’s definitely not the easiest thing to do either, the reason why this is the case is because it is nearly impossible to target specific areas of fat on your body by exercising those regions of your body.

Doing hundreds of situps will not help you lose abdominal fat! Sit-ups actually do little to increase strength because they focus on endurance and are inefficient; it is hard to overload the abdominal muscles doing sit-ups.

Sit-ups and or crunches work the abs, but largely in an isometric fashion. Sit ups are an “integrated” exercise that work the abs and hip flexors, but the hip flexors do most of the work (especially the way most people perform them - quickly, with the feet anchored, and with extra weight).

Of course it never hurts for you to do crunches to make ensure that you have a strong core, but the simple fact of the matter is that you’re not going to get ripped abs unless you get rid of the layer of fat that is covering it up.

Sit-ups and crunches will only assist in the actual muscle building of the abs themselves, but without losing that fat layer you won’t be seeing any abs at all.

In order for you to overcome this problem, you need to have a combination of the proper diet and a proper series of exercises. Eating the right foods in the right portions each day allows all of your hard work in the gym to pay off. You’ll lose weight, and begin to get ripped abs in no time.

One of the first things that you may consider doing clearing your mind of all of the things that you have ever learned in the past because unfortunately, many of them were false.

Typically, we get our information through commercial means and because they are trying to sell us a product, they usually make that product out to be the best thing possible. Forget everything you know, here is how to get ripped abs to show through.

The first thing that you need to do is to write out a plan of what you’re going to eat, go shopping beforehand, and cook larger portions of healthy meals so that you can take leftovers for lunch. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on herbs and supplements, just keep focused on real, whole foods.

Of course, I’m not talking about cutting out all of the carbohydrates or fats out from your diet, that wouldn’t be healthy at all, but what I am suggesting is that you eat a well balanced diet that contains as much raw fruits and vegetables as possible.

It is also a good idea for you to eat a protein and a legume every time you sit down at a meal as this will help to build muscle in your body and to stabilize your blood sugar levels.

Exercise is also a great idea and you need to make sure that you are doing multi-joint exercises that are targeting the largest muscles in your body.

Putting lean muscle mass on your body in your legs, back and chest is going to melt the fat off of your body and allow you to finally get ripped abs that you have been working on to finally show through.
