Cellulite is something that most women are familiar with; the buildup of fat cells within the interior of the skin that can cause the skin to take on a dimpled appearance. Although it can be hard to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the surface of the skin, there are multiple treatments which can be chosen from to reduce the appearance of cellulite, some more invasive than others. Here are some of the popular treatments available to reduce cellulite.

Mesotherapy is a relatively new treatment for those suffering from the dimpled skin associated with cellulite within the body. In this form of treatment, drugs and other types of treatments are injected into the skin surrounding the area of the body that has become affected by the cellulite treatment. Through the course of treatment, these injections have been said to reduce the dimpled appearance of the cellulite and break down the fat cells within the inner layers of the skin which contribute to the appearance of the dimpled skin caused by cellulite. Many drugs and components which are used to inject into the skin are used “off-label” meaning the treatments have been created for other uses, but have been found effective when injected into the skin to reduce the appearance of cellulite. It is important to remember that multiple treatments are often required in order to see results from the injections.

Laser therapy treatments are available for those trying to reduce the appearance of cellulite through various parts of the body. Although these treatments can often have temporary results for the reduction of the appearance of cellulite in the skin and multiple treatments are often required in order to see results, many patients favor these non-invasive treatments. These programs are some of the highest priced programs available which can help to reduce the appearance of cellulite through the thighs, hips and buttocks area.

Body wraps are offered in many salons and spas and are said to reduce the appearance of the cellulite within the skin, through firming and detoxifying ingredients within the wraps which are applied to the skin. Through the use of these wraps, individuals are able to experience a tightening sensation as the fluid is removed from the skin, decreasing fluid retention. It is nearly impossible for these wraps to remove the buildup of fat cells within the skin and therefore they are not an effective means to reduce the appearance of cellulite through long term means.

These are three of the most common treatments which are used, that do not contain creams and lotions which are applied to the skin. Choosing between these options can yield results, but the decision should be considered carefully before choosing between each of these treatment options. :)
